What to Do with Your Hairdo: Style Tips from Celebrity Stylist Mark Townsend

The first time I heard it the term “Mom Hair” it was in reference to a friend who chopped off her gorgeous curly locks for a practical, easy-to-manage short crop. Let’s face it – as moms, we don’t always have the time to fuss around with our hair in the morning or go back for midday touch-ups.

So we asked celebrity stylist, Mark Townsend, to share his celebrity style secrets on how he creates do’s that can stand up (and stay up) all day long – whether you are a hot mama walking the red carpet or an everyday mama hanging out on the magic carpet!

Frizz-Free Control – Maybe it’s the extreme dry climate, maybe it’s the countless balloons and blankets that get rubbed on my head, but it’s an ongoing battle to maintain a static-free look.

For frizz-free hair, Mark recommends using Dove Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo and Daily Treatment Conditioner ever day followed by a few drops of the Anti-Frizz Serum in damp hair prior to styling.

All-Day Hold – Often the reason moms opt for no style is because maintaining any sort of style is a challenge. As someone with hair that always seems to fall flat after a few hours, I asked Mark about how to keep a style all day long.

To maintain lift and hold, Mark emphasized the importance of applying nourishing products to the ends only, well away from roots. Believe it or not, his secret for style that lasts is using Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo to give hair that extra oomph!

From Play Dates to Date Night – Who has the time to shower and change before going out for that rare evening alone with your husband? Not me so I asked Mark about how to refresh or change a style for an evening out.
