I love how kickboxing can sculpt your body while having fun and getting out some much pent up aggression. Here is a move that will tone your legs and core and burn some calories while elevating your heart rate.
Here is the breakdown of the sequence:
1. Squat deep into your heels, hips back. As you stand, do a Front Kick on your Right Leg–pulling your knee to your chest and snapping your foot out and in before you return your leg to the floor.
2. Squat deep into your heels, hips back. As you stand, do a Roundhouse kick on your Right leg–pointing your “non-kicking leg” out on a diagonal, knee over toe, pull your kicking knee up ready to extend the leg out to the side and snap the foot in/out.
3. Squat deep into your heels, hips back and hold. Then, do 3 Back kicks–alternating legs, making sure you pull the knee back in before you set the foot on the floor.
Repeat this on the other side. I suggest going back and forth at least 5 times before you rest and attempt it again. Be sure you engage your core throughout. It will support your back while kicking and squatting!
