If I think back through the years about all the lessons I have learned along the way, about life and business, what I would tell myself is this: choose wisely. It sounds simple enough, but in practice, it’s perhaps the biggest challenge we face as entrepreneurs.
Where we are today is the result of all the tiny decisions we make everyday. From the healthy breakfast we savored (or skipped) to the tasks that furthered our causes or frittered away our time on needless distractions. In all these things: choose wisely.
10 Wise Everyday Choices to Make for Your Business
#1: Map Out a Plan – Know what your big picture goals are both for your business and your own personal development. Ask yourself what you need to do today to make that big picture a possibility in the future?
#2: Tackle Priority Tasks First – Tackle the most important tasks on your to-do list first! Choosing wisely is all about getting the right things done day in, day out!
#3: Focus Daily – Avoid the many temptations that threaten to pull you off track. Focus is not just about setting a strategic direction and sticking with it, but what you choose to do every single day!
#4: Keep Moving Forward – Don’t let yourself get bogged down in failure or stuckness. Do whatever it takes to keep moving forward, even if it’s the tiniest step forward.
#5: Understand the Outcomes – Connect the dots between the decisions you make today and the future outcomes that result from them. Determine if that choice will paint you into a corner or expanding your possibilities?
#6: Synergize Relationships – Make time to build strategic relationships within your industry. Networking is a powerful tool that every entrepreneur must master!
#7: Make Wise Investments – Make strategic investments in the long-term sustainability of your business. That may mean setting up systems to allow you for future growth or creating build-it-once, get-paid-forever products.
#8: Work the Numbers – Pay close attention to your numbers and use them to make key decisions! Figure out what aspects of your business are the most profitable and what ones are the most costly.
#9: Quantify Your Successes – Track and measure your efforts so you know exactly what caused them! Use that information to replicate and repeat your successes!
#10: Reward Yourself – Don’t forget that your business needs you at your best! Reward yourself regularly with breaks and boosts that refill your creativity and rest your mind!

Super tips Carla because each is an important reminder: all you experience grows out of your choices.
All choices are big, from moment to moment, because what you choose to do now creates your future.
Thanks!
Ryan
I love “Reward yourself” as a tip Carla. I’d add, “Don’t take it personally” because our own sensitivity can often get in the way of business. You have to be persistent so taking something personally is completely unproductive.
@brucesallan:disqus Absolutely!
I am a huge believer that you can’t get things done if you are falling apart! Sleep, exercise and eating right are big on my list of self-care rewards (as are bubble baths, reading books and taking the weekends off)!
@ryanbiddulph:disqus Thanks!
I am so tired of hearing “It’s not my fault! People are so quick to come up with excuses as to why they aren’t to blame when finding out what you could have done differently is the only way you can make sure it doesn’t happen again!
Why would anyone want to give up their power like that?
